1^st Wrelton Village Show – Sunday 8^th August

Well this was always going to be an unknown quantity but Wreltonians did themselves proud with many villagers entering exhibits and many more coming to view on the Sunday afternoon.

On the Friday evening there were 182 entries over the 43 classes. Saturday was a busy day working out how much space to allocate to each class based on the entries. Then on the Sunday morning people started arriving from 8.30am with their exhibits.

The judges did their stuff and were impressed by the quantity and quality of the entries considering this was our first attempt.

The afternoon public viewing was very busy with many residents and some visitors coming to have a look. Hopefully some of those villagers who didn’t enter this year will be encouraged to have a go next year!

A big thank you to all of those who entered the show and to those who helped beforehand and on the day in order to make it a success. Thanks also to our judges and to the sponsors for their support.

We should have raised about £180 from the event which will go towards the upkeep of the Village Hall. Let’s hope we can build on this success and make the 2022 Show even better.
