The Second Wrelton Show – Sunday 7th August
The Second Wrelton Show did not disappoint. The entries were up on last year and I think everyone will agree that the standard was very high and every class had at least one entry. On the Friday evening there were 205 entries over 46 classes and 53 people entered one or more of the classes.
Saturday was the day for sorting out the spacings for each class and performing the finishing touches. Then, on the Sunday morning people started arriving from 8.30am with their exhibits. The judging started at 11am and thankfully all the judges remembered to turn up this year! The afternoon public viewing was very busy with many residents and some visitors coming to have a look and this year it was lovely not to have to wear face masks.
A big thank you to all of those who entered the show and to those who helped beforehand and on the day in order to make it a success. Thanks also to our judges and to the sponsors for their support. We should have raised about £330 from the event thanks to the generosity of all those who donated to the bottle tombola and to everyone who purchased books. This will go towards the upkeep of the Village Hall. The results of all the classes and photos are available to view on the Wrelton Village website.
