Last night fifty Wreltonians, friends and guests gathered in the village hall to see two monologues from Alan Bennett’s acclaimed series “Talking Heads”, performed by the Library Theatre Touring Company from Leeds.
Deborah Kelly took the lead in both plays and her brilliant acting skills brought the humour and pathos of Bennett’s writing to life and made for a captivating performance. Everyone agreed we were treated to a superb evening and especially expressed admiration for Deborah’s ability to remember all those lines!
Thank you to Deborah – ably supported by Roger Cook in the background – for bringing a touch of the ‘West End’ to Wrelton.
Thanks also to the Village Hall Committee who arranged the evening and for everyone who helped with serving drinks and clearing up!
We have sold almost 50 tickets for the play on the 12th May but there are still some available – don’t leave it too late as no tickets are available on the night.
Don’t forget our annual Stalls on the Green on Monday 29th at 10am.
The memorabilia sent in by Mrs Mitchell of Sinnington is under the ‘History of Wrelton’ link at the top.
