SuperFast North Yorkshire – Wrelton Update
In the July edition of the Wrambler we reported on the latest news regarding Superfast Broadband North Yorkshire coming to Wrelton. Since that news we received another update from Helen and Richard Young who have been in communication with SFNY explaining the reason for the project completion been pushed back to end of October 2017 (having originally been due end of June 2017). Here’s the email they received from SFNY:
“I can assure you that the delay is nothing to do with finance, it is purely engineering works.
We were waiting for a road closure that should have taken place around the end of June to enable a de-silting gang to come to the area to clear some blockages for the new duct work that was being carried out.
Once all this work has been completed and we get fibre to the cabinet then you will see more engineers in the area moving all the telephone lines over to this new fibre cabinet. Once testing has taken place and service providers have been informed then fibre can be ordered.
We are hoping that this is in the next couple of months (and not the end of October) however we can not promise just in case something else comes up (ie power cant be connected to the cabinet etc).
As soon as all the work has been completed then I will email you to let you know. Please feel free to contact me in a few weeks for a further update.”
Thanks to Helen and Richard for keeping us informed.
