November News and Links

Wrelton Village website

This month was a busy month for submissions to the Wrambler so we were short on space.
As mentioned in the newsletter please find below more information on the various events and announcements for November.

BARN DANCE.
After a slow start, tickets for the Barn Dance on 3 November have gone very well and at the time of going to press we have just 2 tickets left.  If you are interested, please give Peter Renshaw a call on 474577.
Price is £7 for adults and £5 for under 14’s.
Pie and pea supper is included but bring your own drinks.

WINTER HANGING BASKETS AND BEDDING PLANTS
From Sue Uttley:- “I am now making winter hanging baskets so if anyone would like one making that hasn’t ordered one please could they contact me.
I also have a selection of winter bedding plants.
I would like to say a big thank you for the support the village and the caravan site gave me when I opened my doors this year – I was kept extremely busy. I made more baskets than I have ever made before. I also received an e-mail from Malton in bloom who had seen some of my baskets and have asked me to make the baskets for them for the centre of Malton next year. I was overwhelmed and said yes so I’m about to put another polytunnel up!”
Sue’s contact details are in this months Wrambler and here are some photos of her winter offerings.(Click on the image to see full size)

MESSY MOO DAY

Messy Moo Day in Wrelton Village Hall on 4th November – the event will be 10 to 11-15am and is for babies age 6 months -3 years. The session is a messy play session using mostly taste safe ingredients that allow babies and toddlers to explore and be creative.  The cost is £6.50 and places do need to be booked in advance by emailing me at sam@moo-music.co.uk. I’ve attached a pic that shows what we get up to.

PARISH COUNCIL ANNOUNCEMENT

To all Parishioners from Aislaby, Middleton and Wrelton Parish Council (the Parish Council)

The Parish Council currently has a small surplus of funds of approximately £1500. It would like this money to be used to benefit the Parish as a whole. Therefore parishioners are invited to apply for a small grant towards local community projects.

A short description of the project and how it will benefit the Parish or part of it; set up costs and where relevant, how ongoing expense will be funded should be submitted to the Parish Council by email to aismidwrel@gmail.com

While there is no closing date, the project should be able to be completed in this current financial year. Those shortlisted will be invited to meet with members of the Parish Council to discuss their proposal further. The decision of the Parish Council is final.
